Mom passed away on the afternoon of July 2nd.
I drove to SC the day before, she opened her eyes, acknowledged my presence and never woke again.
I had in my mind that her last day would be July 4th.
My father died on the 4th, 37 years ago, from a
car accident. My brother Oral, 39, passed
away just last September from a heart-attack. My
sister and I remain, miles apart but linked in spirit.
We have planned a Memorial for my Mom and brother together, July 17th - 3 pm at Florence Baptist Church
in Lexington, SC.
I was so happy that I had the opportunity to be with
Mom every weekend this past month.
There were funny moments, and sad ones, but mostly
uplifting ones when we talked, and difficult ones when she struggled to be wholely capable.
I love you Mom, I will miss you, and I thank you for
making me the person that I am.
hI dENA~ I am so sorry for your lose and any pain you may be feeling. I am glad to know that you got to spend some quality time with your mom before she went. Hope each day gets easier for you during this sad time. Hugs, Jenn

ReplyDeleteDena, I am so sorry about your mom... and your brother. My goodness. You've had your fair share of sorrow. It's been two years since my mother passed away... and my father passed away four months later. Double losses are incredibly tough. I'm praying for you and your family.

Dena, I am so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. My heart goes out to you. I pray. I know she fought a hard battle, and that she found such comfort in you being there with her.
ReplyDeleteYour mom died on my grandmother's birthday which is always a bittersweet day for me, too, because I miss my grandmother so much. And July 2nd is also the day that John Adams thought the nation would celebrate independence. So it's a special day.
I hope all goes well with the memorial service. Will be thinking of you. I pray the Lord comforts you in this time of sorrow.
XO,
Sheila
