Thank you to Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for hosting Tablescape Thursday. Be sure to visit the other posters today.
After doing green for the past 2 Tablescapes I decided to switch things up with some red today.
I've come to the conclusion that it is difficult to
photograph reds.
It just seems toooo much in the photos, but the table in person was beautiful.
I have loved red Spode designs since I was a child...my aunt had tons of it and I just thought they were so beautiful in her china cabinet.
I've had the white plates for umpteen years.

The "wine valet." When I told my husband I was planning to put lights in a wine bottle and sell it, he didn't believe anyone but crazy me would ever buy such a thing! I tried to convince him otherwise, so he decided if I could sell lights in a bottle he could sell a vest on a bottle! Slow down now, I don't want a stampede trying to get one!

Thank you for visiting me today! I'm off to see all of the beautiful table creations.
Have an awesome Thursday Ya'll!

Dena, check your link. I couldn't get it to work. But your tablescape is great. I love those white plates and of course always love the Spode. A vest on a bottle - too cute!
ReplyDeleteLove the spode plates ~ I actually love all the colors I see this in. The red is a nice change up and I'm looking forward to bringing my Christmas plates out.
ReplyDeleteI love red and so I am all for your table today! The scalloped white plates are so lovely too. (Have you changed your hair yet?) Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI think the red is outstanding...I love it!
ReplyDeleteDid you try photographing the dishes without the flash on? I like the way the pictures turn out with natural lighting.
When I don't use my flash, the pics sometimes are blurry, have to hold the camera just so so to get a in focus shot.
Anyhow Dena, I think you have a gorgeous table and I'm glad I got to see it.
God Bless,
d
Hi Dena, wow, I love all of your red and your lacy white plates as an accent. It all looks beautiful to me. the wine bottle with the jacket is a fun touch. did that wine bottle have lights in it. Big smile here. Your goblets are beautiful. It is all good.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Jeanne
Very pretty and festive!
ReplyDeleteYou can't go wrong with red! You have such a fun collection of treasures too.
ReplyDeleteRed is a color that just makes me happy! I love to decorate with it, love to wear it. I love the picture with the wineglass on the white plate...pretty!

I also like to use the red and I found the same thing, (as susan from napsontheporch says, shut the flash off, open shades and turn up all the lights and photograph in morning or when sun is out to help...wow did that make a difference, I love your setting and think you did a great job
ReplyDeleteOh I love the red. It really is hard to photograph, but you did a wonderful job. Everything is just gorgeous. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteHi Dena,

Love red and your tablescape, especially the wine glasses.
ReplyDeleteYou can never have to much red, I always say--but I agree with you that it is sometimes hard to get it to photograph correctly.
ReplyDeleteIf you do the lights in the bottle--let us know how you do it for a met monday post and let me know!
OOh, the Spode is my favorite, but you can't go wrong with red!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, love all the red. I have been looking for some red stems but haven't been able to find any locally...guess I will keep looking...after seeing yours, I really need to find some!
ReplyDeleteLove that red!!!

Hi Dena,
ReplyDeleteLOVE your red table!! And the wine vest is absolutely charming! I have very little red in my home (I think it's because I can't WEAR red--it totally washes me out) so I've shied away from it in decor as well. But I'm starting to let it slowly creep in (I recently painted my mailbox red and I love it) and now I'm thinking I need some red tableware as well. Thanks for sharing!
I love your red table!! It's gorgeous - You've set your table with some really beautiful pieces! I think it turned out lovely.
ReplyDeleteI think your red vest on a bottle is really cute! Love your story. Fun tablscape, too!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Sheila :-)
Very pretty! I love the red!
